Breaking Bad-Albuquerque: The desert’s hottest show

Shot and set in Albuquerque, New Mexico, “Breaking Bad” remains the biggest hit series set in the city. Much like how “The Big Bang Theory” affected Pasadena, “Breaking Bad” was reported to have expanded the interest of tourists to the beautiful sunny, desert-like city. The locations were set around the city, like Jesse Pinkman’s house, Walter White’s house, A-1 Car Wash, Dog House, and Twisters. Of course, all the addresses named in the show are not real, but all the locations are.

The characters film in popular locations all over the city. A lot of the everyday simple city life and local attributes are portrayed in this show; the prop department even used a local Albuquerque candy shop to make the infamous blue “meth” crystal candy. Two lead actors, Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston, even have homes in the city. Shows like “The Brave” and “Better Call Saul” were also shot in the city.
