Bates Motel-Oregon: A serial killer lived in this state

“Bates Motel” is a prequel to the 1960s film “Psycho,” airing between 2013 to 2017. The series is set in the fictional town of White Pine Bay, Oregon. For the series, a replica of the 1960s motel was built in Aldergrove, British Columbia, particularly 1054 272nd Street.

However, the original house and motel can be found in Universal Studios, LA. Metro Vancouver and its surroundings are also filming locations. Norman’s school scenes were shot at Seycove Secondary School in North Vancouver, and the White Pine Bay was the real-life Horseshoe Bay. Many of the town’s history and lifestyle were relevant to the series. “Backstrom,” “Ghost Mine,” and “Eureka” are some of the series also filmed in Oregon.
