These TV Shows Take Place All Over The United States But Weren’t Exactly Filmed in the Plot’s City

Longmire-Wyoming: The sheriff of Absaroka County investigates crimes all across the state

“Longmire” is set in Northern Wyoming, yet the series was filmed in New Mexico, Eagle Nest, Santa Fe, Red River, Las Vegas, and Espanola. Other places include Buffalo in Johnson County, and northeast Wyoming, which served anything for some scenes set in the fictional town of Durant in Absaroka County.

One of the places used to set the scene is Valles Caldera National Preserve, where Walts’s house was in the show. Also, Garson Studios, located on Sante Fe University Art and Design’s campus, served as one of the filming locations. Among the places, references were made throughout the show, including The Valles Caldera and downtown Las Vegas plaza, shown in the series as Longmire’s home and workplace. Walt’s house was in danger during filming when wildfires spread through the Valles Caldera. The series largely depicts the lifestyles of the city’s residents and even paid tribute to members of the Prescott Fire Department that lost their lives fighting wildfires in Arizona.
