This show gained massive fame from 1982 to 1990 and aired on CBS. It was a huge success, and the Waybury Inn was recognized worldwide and gained notoriety due to the exposure. It is set in a small rural town in Vermont, and the exterior scenes were shot in Waybury at 457 East Main Street in East Middlebury, Vermont. A visit to Vermont in the U.S. will see you stay in the inn made by popular Bob Newhart.
Bob Newhart and his wife moved from New York City to a small town known in the area of Vermont to operate the Stratford Inn, which has existed for over 20 decades. Originally, the inn was built by John Foot in 1810. Although the show was never specific about the town’s name, some media sources suggested it could be Norwich.
