“Grey’s Anatomy” is a popular tv show set in Seattle, yet production takes place in California. The main hospital scenes are filmed at the VA Sepulveda Ambulatory Care Center in North Hills, California. You can even see the California mountains through the windows of some scenes. Production also films at the West Los Angeles College, and helicopter air ambulance landings take place on the KOMO-TV roof in Seattle. To depict local landmarks like the Space Needle, they filmed in Seattle to get shots of it and the city’s skyline.
Other real locations in the show include the exterior of Meredith Grey’s house, also referred to as the Intern House, located in the real neighborhood of Queen Anne.
