These TV Shows Take Place All Over The United States But Weren’t Exactly Filmed in the Plot’s City

Grey’s Anatomy-Seattle, Washington: How can you be depressed living in rainy Seattle when doctors like McDreamy and McSteamy live there?

“Grey’s Anatomy” is a popular tv show set in Seattle, yet production takes place in California. The main hospital scenes are filmed at the VA Sepulveda Ambulatory Care Center in North Hills, California. You can even see the California mountains through the windows of some scenes. Production also films at the West Los Angeles College, and helicopter air ambulance landings take place on the KOMO-TV roof in Seattle. To depict local landmarks like the Space Needle, they filmed in Seattle to get shots of it and the city’s skyline.

Other real locations in the show include the exterior of Meredith Grey’s house, also referred to as the Intern House, located in the real neighborhood of Queen Anne. Prospect Studio, Los Feliz, served as the location where most of the scenes were taped, while some outside scenes were shot at the Warren G. Magnuson Park in Seattle. Some of the operations in the series were real-life operations performed on the cast, and even the M.R.I. machine used is functional. It is a tv show that reflects what’s going on in the Seattle hospitals. Other places filming locations include Kerry Park, the waterfront, Fremont Bridge, and The Space Needle. The rainy setting perfectly encapsulates the city the show is based on.
