These TV Shows Take Place All Over The United States But Weren’t Exactly Filmed in the Plot’s City

Army Wives-South Carolina: This naval base is not just a tv set

“Army Wives” was produced by the Mark Gordon Company, partnering with ABC Studios. This American drama was based on the lives of four army wives and army husbands, including their families. Created by Katherine Fugate, the popular series is set and filmed in Charleston, South Carolina. However, the Fort Marshall Naval Base is fictional, which was the Charleston Air Force Base in real life, with the real-life location in Baltimore, Maryland.

In 2006, filming started at the old Charleston Naval Base in North Charleston and extended to Charleston Field Poston Road, Boone Hall Plantation, and throughout North Charleston and downtown Charleston. Most scenes took place on a sound stage, with other outdoor scenes filmed at the former Charleston Shipyard, some part of the field of Charleston, including Charleston itself. Unitarian Church in Charleston and the waterfront are also notable landmarks in the series.
