“Home improvement” was produced in Walt Disney Studios, Burbank, California. Many Michigan schools and universities were featured in the show because Tim appreciated his home state so much. The main character would wear different real-life Michigan-based college sweatshirts and t-shirts throughout the series. Schools like Michigan State University, Wayne State, and Hope College were featured.
