Stranger Things-Indiana: This show definitely has some strange locations
“Stranger Things” is set in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana, but it was filmed in different locations in Atlanta, Georgia, and surrounding towns. Many of the streets and neighborhood names are based on real places in Atlanta.
Reports from Decider suggested that Albuquerque and New Mexico was the original location of the scenes believed to be shot in California. The California Lenora Hills High School was fiction, with the actual scene shot at Eldorado High School in Albuquerque. Other “Stranger Things” scenes occurred in Albuquerque’s Roller King skating rink and Los Lunas, New Mexico. Vilnius, Lithuania, was the real location of scenes believed to be shot in Russia- a scene where Hopper is seen in centuries-old Lukiškes Prison.
