These TV Shows Take Place All Over The United States But Weren’t Exactly Filmed in the Plot’s City

Hart of Dixie-Alabama: Southern vibes were recreated on the west coast

Premiered in 2011 on the W.B. network, this ‘fish out of water” tale was primarily filmed in Los Angeles. However, some southern locations were also used as background and inspiration. It was set in the fictional town of Bluebell, Alabama. The filming of the beginning episodes took place in North Carolina’s Wilmington. Hoggard Hall, the University of North Carolina’s campus, was the filming location for Zoe’s medical school graduation. South 2nd Street was the exterior filming location of the medical practice.

Village Market was on the same street as The Dixie Stop, where Zoe bought wine in the show. However, Alabama wasn’t used in any of the locations; some places looked the same as what fans saw on their screens. There was Rammer Jammer- a town watering hole on the show that always served breakfast and drinks during late hours at night but never existed in real life.
