These TV Shows Take Place All Over The United States But Weren’t Exactly Filmed in the Plot’s City

Medium-Phoenix: Solving crime in the Southwest

The show is set in Phoenix, Arizona, in fictional “Mariposa County”; however, most of the show was shot in various studios around California. There was a lot to pull off with the different scenes and locations that needed to look like the portrayed city. However, the closest semblance to a real place in Phoenix was the courtroom, which had tell-tale signs revealing it was shot in Maricopa County.

Many of the show’s actions and events revolve around the city and its political and judicial system. With specific references to school and family life in the city, it was clear the show took place in Phoenix. Shows like “Back at the Barnyard” and “Chambers” also were inspired to take place in this city.
