These TV Shows Take Place All Over The United States But Weren’t Exactly Filmed in the Plot’s City

Saving Grace-Oklahoma City: Oklahoma’s history was a main character in the show

Set in Oklahoma City, Saving Grace was a hit series until it was canceled in 2009. Although based in Oklahoma, the show was shot in various Vancouver and Los Angeles locations. However, many landmark locations in Oklahoma were featured in the show, including the Downtown Skyline and the Oklahoma City National Memorial.

The show explores the presence and action of the Oklahoma police force and shows people’s everyday lifestyles. None of the cast lives in the city, but the producer, Nancy Miller, is from Oklahoma. Many of the characters’ last names took inspiration from towns in the state. Other local buildings and events were also used to portray life in Oklahoma City. For example, the eatery Johnnies Charcoal Broiler and the 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building were often referenced. Shows like “Agent Carter” and “D.U.I” were filmed in Oklahoma.
