Don’t scrub your hardwood floor using bleach
As you’ve seen before, it’s advised not to clean hardwood floors with too much water, as it can make the boards bow and lead to irreversible damage. Sealing it with polyurethane is a must to protect this delicate material because it helps prevent the panels from breaking and extends the life of your floors.
However, using a sealer doesn’t mean that your hardwood floor will become indestructible or resist any cleaning product. For instance, products like bleach should be avoided at all costs. It’s too strong and will strip the polyurethane coating. You should use soap and water or look for cleaners specially designed for hardwood floors.
