Dry your dishes before stacking them
Here’s another common error that some people make out of laziness. After you’ve washed the dishes, you should wait until they are dry before stacking them inside your cabinet. If you stack wet dishes, they’ll retain moisture and could potentially cause food-borne illnesses when you use them the next time.
Studies have shown that bacteria grow on the surface of stacked dishes that retain water for over 24 hours. For this reason, it’s important to let them air dry before you place them inside your kitchen cupboard. You could also run the drying cycle on your dishwasher.
