Traditional American breakfasts look nothing like Japanese breakfasts
Everyone knows what traditional breakfasts in the US look like. They include an omelet, eggs with bacon, ham or pork sausages and fried potatoes, or pancakes and toast with butter and jam. But you’d never expect your first meal of the day to be soup and rice, right?
Still, that’s how it works in Japan. The traditional Japanese breakfast has all the nutrients your body needs to function correctly. It usually follows the style of a Japanese set meal, with the staple being rice, miso soup and boiled vegetables served as side dishes.
