Canadians have a version of poutine called “disco fries”
The taste of poutine is unique, so it can be challenging to put into words. We can describe it as something similar to mashed potatoes with gravy but taken to another level with the addition of crispy fries and cheese curds rather than mashed potatoes.
Although poutine is a strictly American dish, you can find a similar meal in Canada. It’s called “disco fries,” and you can find them in almost any restaurant. This recipe doesn’t include cheese curds, though. It uses mozzarella and cheddar cheese as a topping instead.
