The word “jelly” means different things in America and the UK

Although the US and the UK share the same language, there are a few differences in how both countries name food. We’ve already discussed what happens with chips and biscuits, and now it’s time to talk about the word “jelly.”

Americans will assume you’re looking for a sweet, seedless jam you can put in a sandwich or on top of a toast when you ask for jelly. However, in Britain, people will believe you’re looking for a gelatin dessert called “Jell-O” instead.
