People Were Much Nicer
Of course, this does not mean that the world in the 80s was a peaceful paradise and that people were angels and would never hurt a fly. On the contrary, even the 80s had its share of mean and unpleasant people, just like today.
However, people were generally nicer and more pleasant. People exchanged pleasantries, respected one another, and were generally more courteous towards others than people today. One restaurant, in particular, Alice Cooper, served free food to kids every Christmas. It is sadly closed today, but the example they left speaks volumes and tells us that we need more like it today.
