We Had the Nintendo Gameboy™
Before the PSP (PlayStation Portable), there was the Nintendo Gameboy. Released in April 1989, the Nintendo Gameboy was the first handheld in the Gameboy family and quickly became every kid’s fantasy.
It used cartridges to change games, and sometimes they wouldn’t load. If you are not an 80s kid (or early 90s), you won’t understand the struggle of cleaning the cartridge slot. We constantly had to blow air into the cartridges and their slots in hopes of cleaning out dust that was probably blocking the chips. Sometimes we did this several times before our games could load. Yet we still had a load of fun doing this!
