So you have fancy iPods? Well, we had sturdy 30-pound boomboxes that were all the rage back in the 1980s. We made a statement when we donned our bleached jeans, hoisted our trusty boombox onto our shoulders, and cranked up the volume; there’s no better way of saying, “It’s time to party!”
The boombox played music in high definition, capturing the amazing baselines and vocals of our favorite songs with uncanny precision. I remember how we’d turn the volume up and break dance to the beats all night. The boombox could bring the party all by itself!
