Roommates should contribute equally
Being roommates means sharing major and minor responsibilities alike. Though no one is perfect, and we have all accidentally forgotten to take out the trash, replace the empty milk container, or even flush the toilet, it’s important to pull our own weight and take part in household chores and responsibilities equally.
Just like this Redditor said, paying for your share of the food doesn’t necessarily mean that your role is finished. While your monetary contribution may be appreciated, there are other things to consider. If it is the same person who always makes the trips to get the food, it may seem like that person is making more of an effort, which can get frustrating and lead to resentment.
