McDonald’s Has Changed A Lot, And These Old Photos Show It

It doesn’t matter on what side of the world you grew up—going to a McDonald’s was probably a big part of your childhood. Most of us told our parents to take us there every weekend, asked for a Happy Meal, and played in the playground with our stomachs full. Nowadays, we still like to visit Golden Arches every now and then and order a cheeseburger for the good old days. It’s up to debate whether we go because they serve tasty junk food or because our childhood nostalgia always gets to us. As McDonald’s lovers ourselves, we’ve decided to compile pictures from the 1980s and 1990s that show how the fast-food chain has changed over time. Even if you aren’t a junk food fan, we’re pretty sure you’ll appreciate the vintage vibes of these photos.

Celebrating your birthday at McDonald’s

If you’re an ’80s or a ’90s kid, you probably know there were only two ways of becoming popular at school. First, you could make an effort to be likable and funny. Or second, you could celebrate your birthday at McDonald’s and invite all your classmates.
