Most restaurants and other public institutions are smoke-free these days. You won’t see adults lighting up cigarettes or asking for ashtrays while having a meal. Nonetheless, the world was a completely different place during the ’80s and the early ’90s.

McDonald’s used to have indoor smoking areas a few years ago. People could enjoy their burgers, fries, and ice cream while sucking on cigarette after cigarette. Many adults probably remember these amber-colored ashtrays sitting in the middle of every table.
