This mother had more faith in her child’s knowledge than the child itself
There is nothing better than having parents that are completely confident of your abilities. It can be reassuring to have your mother ask you about your opinion because it shows she recognizes you as an equal. Nevertheless, sometimes, like in this person’s case, their faith in you may become borderline delusional.
After all, nobody knows everything. While it is true that sometimes “I don’t know” means “I don’t want to explain it to you,” it may very well mean that you do not have the answer. It must be very frustrating to have their mother not believe them when they genuinely have no idea.
