Some parents have trouble communicating with their kids, but it is not always their fault. They may struggle to reach out to their child or simply have difficulties finding the right words. This mother definitely had some issues giving a clear message to her child.
That send-off sounds awfully cutting. It truly feels as if their mom was cutting all contact with them. She probably did not mean to sound so mean, as she did not expect that phrase to have any implicit meaning. This problem is particularly common with parents who speak a different language.
