This woman’s friends failed to contact her when she was ill
Some friendships last forever, but time and age can often lead to friends drifting away from each other. People change, move away, or even die. This means that we can feel more and more alone as we get older. Fortunately for this lady, she still had some friends left.
Unfortunately for her, they did not seem very interested in keeping in touch. Although perhaps they did not suck after all. If her friends were close to her in age, then maybe they did not contact her because contemporary communication devices had them a bit confused.
