The crawling scene wasn’t part of the plan
It’s amazing how many spontaneous and impromptu moments shared between actors contribute to the phenomenal feel of a movie. The crawling scene in Dirty Dancing is no exception. Behind the scenes, Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey were fooling around, crawling on the floor, getting ready to shoot the scene.
However, the director liked it so much and decided to use the footage for the film. Good choice, because when we ask for your favorite scenes in the movie, undoubtedly one of the first on your list is the montage in which Johnny and Baby playfully crawl toward each.
