Patrick Swayze filmed with a terrible knee injury
While we gloss over Patrick’s excellent physique, dancing skills, and handsome face, did you know he performed all these scenes with a terrible knee injury? In his book, he talked about an injury he suffered during his Broadway days and how it interfered with his dancing in the movie.
He also mentioned he was known for turning down roles because of the severity of his knee problem. Patrick is often called the “dancer-turned-actor,” as he was fond of avoiding dance-centered roles. Even though Dirty Dancing was an exception, it didn’t mean his pain was behind him.
