The song ‘She’s Like The Wind’ wasn’t written for this film
The song “She’s Like the Wind” that appeared in the movie was originally composed for another movie. This 1987 song by American actor and singer Patrick Swayze from the soundtrack to the film “Dirty Dancing” features additional vocals from singer Wendy Fraser. It is one of the most iconic musical pieces from musicals and Hollywood.
It was recorded in November 1986 and released in December 1987; the song was produced by Micheal Llyod and reached number three on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number one on the Adult Contemporary chart. It was originally intended for the soundtrack of “Grandview, U.S.A.,” but it was dropped.
