Some news should be kept private
It is not uncommon to use cakes to reveal a piece of big news to the rest of the family. That said, some updates should be delivered privately because of their sensitive and touchy nature. Not all announcements should be written in frosting.
Being adopted is not information that should be announced lightly or aired in front of a large group of people. This is a life-changing revelation, and the adopted person should be allowed to process it in private. Such a public announcement on a cake may stir up too many conflicting feelings.
