Another theme that became very popular during the first half of 2020 was to joke about the toilet paper shortages. During those stressful times, people began to hoard this valuable resource, and stores experienced supply shortages for months.
Those who had birthdays in the middle of all that probably thought it a good idea to cash in on the joke and order a toilet paper-themed cake. We get that they were trying to be funny, but no one wants to eat paper for dessert.
