The Gaboon Viper is Ready to Bite Back
Theoxfordcake.co really outdid themselves this time. This cake was made for a mystery book, “Tamzin and the Viper,” hard copy book launch. The cake is made of vanilla and strawberry sponge cake with strawberry ganache and then covered in coffee and brown chocolate fondant. Finally, it was hand-painted and airbrushed for the perfect finishing touch. The fang details make this cake look even more realistic and scary.
The Gaboon viper has the longest fangs of any snake in the world at up to two inches long and has the highest venom yield of any snake. When threatened, it will hiss, typical behavior of most snakes. While hunting rodents, ground-dwelling birds (its main prey), or any other victim, they strike and hold them with a venomous bite until they die. This is why this particular snake cake scares and amazes us simultaneously.
