“The Princess Bride” contains many quotable lines that are regularly used today. For a film that left us with many great quotes such as “Inconceivable” and “As you wish,” it has produced only one line that has gone on to have its own Facebook group and even its deviant art tribute.
Inigo Montana utters his famous line, “Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die,” when he asks Cary Elwes if he has six fingers on his right hand. Cary Elwes raises a gloved hand which has five fingers. Then, Inigo explains his 20-year pursuit of the man who killed his father. When he finally meets his father’s killer, he is almost bested by him, but the words he rehearsed repeatedly keep him going until he kills the Count.
