We’re Totally Buggin’ Over Skorts This Spring and Here’s How We’re Wearing Them

We have so many thoughts and feelings about this 90s/y2k fashion revival we’re seeing. On one hand, isn’t it a little early for these fashions to have circled back so fast? (The 90s were what, 10 years ago?) but on the other hand, we love the nostalgia. Today we’re talking about one piece, in particular, the coveted skort. If you’re unfamiliar, a skort is 50% skirt, 50% shorts, and 100% genius. With spring here and summer getting closer every day, this may be a piece you want to make sure you have! Here are a few skorts we’ve been loving.

Mad for Plaid

What could possibly be more 90s than a plaid skort? This skort sits lower on the hips and has a front wrap, and tie side detail that we adore. And believe it or not, skirts are super versatile. To style this for the warmer months we love it with a plain white t-shirt and Doc Martens, for those transitional seasons like fall and spring, all you need to do is add an oversized denim jacket, and when winter is here, tights and a cropped sweater it is!

Okay, Sporty Spice

This skort is on the casual side, which translates to heckin’ comfy. This is kind of a legging-skort hybrid and while it’s technically athletic wear, we have plans for it. We love this skort paired with a vintage graphic sweatshirt, a gold chain necklace, and a platform sneaker. This is a great fit for the fall or spring when it’s somehow every temperature outside all day long.

Denim Daze

Denim skorts are basically, well, a basic. There isn’t much that doesn’t work with denim and we love how much interest this particular skort has with its wayward wrap. When it comes to styling it for the summertime, we love it with a colorful graphic tee and woven slip-on mule, but this skort can easily be worn with flannels and sweaters during the cooler months.

Shein On

This black butterfly belted skort from Shein is giving us all of the 90s/y2k vibes! And what we love most is that it has an elastic waist so it’s super comfy while giving off some big energy. As for styling this skort, we love it with a matching tank top and cardigan set. (Why not fully commit to the look, ya know?)

If this skort isn’t quite your style, Shein has a ton of adorable (and affordable!) options.
