She wasn’t the most responsible lifeguard
Lifeguards have a lot of pressure. You are responsible for the safety of everyone around you, and you should be trained to respond to an emergency and be super alert if anything happens. Of course, if you work as a lifeguard at a small community pool, things are kind of different.
But Caroline was a rebel at her job. Even if working at a community pool is not a high-responsibility job, she clearly didn’t take it seriously. Eventually, she ended up getting fired. It is great that she knows what she did wasn’t cool. At least she can joke about it!
