Working a Job Where They Claim To Be a Big Family
Have you ever gone to one of those job interviews where the hiring manager tells you, “we are one big happy family”? It should typically be a good thing when someone says that to you. However, those words are often laced with sinister undertones. Hiring managers often say that to lower your guard, and they can overwork you.
A Reddit user phrased it as “one big family = we expect you to be at our beck and call 24/7.” Also, a Reddit user pointed out that “families are where most abuse and murders happen.” While you will likely not be murdered at work, there is a high chance that you could be taken advantage of.
