Like everyone in the world, celebrities are just like us- they need to make money too. While they might be famous for acting or singing, they have other sources of income that make them recognized worldwide. These celebrities have used their names to create businesses and products for their fans and consumers, whether they are affordable or more expensive. Celebrity entrepreneurs are nothing new to the fashion, beauty, or wellness world as they have worked in these industries before. They’ve combined their knowledge, money, and star power to create successful (or sometimes failed) businesses from scratch. We’ve all heard of Skims, but did you know Kim Kardashian had a children’s clothing line? Or that DJ Khaled makes furniture? From clothing lines to makeup collections to beddings and upholsteries, here is a list of celebrity businesses you may or may not have heard of.
Skims and Kardashian Kids by Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian is known as the Kardashian sister that brought her family into the limelight, and it’s not surprising to see this business tycoon appear at the top of our list. SKIMS is a solution and shapewear brand that sells underwear, loungewear, and clothing and has created a new generation of sexy, supportive undergarments.
But did you know this wasn’t her first fashion line? Before SKIMS, Kim debuted a children’s clothes collection in 2014. If you ever wanted your child to look like a WWE wrestler, then you are in luck. These gold leggings were just one of the baby items for sale. The Kardashians debuted a children’s apparel brand for Babies “R” Us and extended to Lord & Taylor. One Kansas mother filed a petition to have the items removed from the stores, stating that if the retailer would remove an age-inappropriate “Breaking Bad” toy, it should also remove these clothes, but the campaign never gained traction. Gold metallic leggings appear to be popular among children. Make no attempt to stop the Kardashians!
