This grandma wanted to win the grief competition
This might be hard for some people to hear, but it must be said. Grief is not a competition. You cannot heal your own pain from a loss by letting others who have suffered it down. That is simply not how bereavement works.
We are sorry for saying this but feeling hurt does not give you the right to say anything without thinking about others. This mother, for example, did not have the right to blatantly underestimate the emotions of her own child.
