Do not make an awful joke to a child
We have previously discussed why taking your child to attend a funeral is probably not the best idea, but this case is different. This is the story of a little boy that had just lost his father and an out-of-place stranger.
Losing a parent is already traumatic for an eight-year-old, so this man should have probably taken a second before telling him that. At a funeral, this joke would not even be appropriate to say to an adult, so the kid’s reaction is not surprising.
