Gone are the days of these boards being all about meats and cheeses because we now know you can make a charcuterie board for just about anything. Seriously. Fajitas? Charcuterie board. There is only one rule when it comes to making charcuterie boards: there are no rules. What’s your favorite breakfast food? Pancakes? Waffles? Donuts? Breakfast burritos? You can easily make a charcuterie board for any of those things.
The task of starting to assemble your charcuterie board can be daunting, so we’re here to help with that. First things first, you’ll need any kind of board. You can find charcuterie boards just about anywhere, and the fun part is you can find one that fits your own personal style.
Next, you’ll need some small bowls for putting fruit, nuts, chocolates, etc., in. Place these on your board wherever you like, and you’ll use your small bowls as a base to help the rest of the food flow.
We suggest starting with the main character of your charcuterie board whether that is tortillas, bread, waffles, pancakes, biscuits, or something in between.
Now add the next most important part of your board such as cheese, meat, butter, eggs, or bottles of syrup.
Last but not least, fill in any empty spaces with nuts, fruit, or ya know, more chocolate. (What?) The secret to a full and delicious-looking charcuterie board is to play around with textures, so while it may look like chaos, as long as there is a little bit of flow, it’s going to wow your guests. (or your family!)
