She got what she deserved
Most people are unhappy with their jobs and literally hate their bosses more than you could even imagine. Not being appreciated for all the hard work one has put in for the organization can be very discouraging.
It isn’t a surprise that this guy had such a bad image of his boss, but to think that he’d go as far as canceling the reservation for her birthday party seems a bit too much. Maybe she was really on his nerves.
