When the best you can do is pretend you are not there
Some people get disturbed when they see blood. Everyone has a different tolerance for the level of gore they are comfortable witnessing; therefore, staying the night in a hospital for this lady turned out to be a nightmare when the woman sharing her room had a terrible accident.
The cold, gut-turning screams would have made anyone uncomfortable to be there. Also, the sight of people scared, covered in blood and crying sets the scene for a disturbing environment from which one can’t escape except by pretending not to be there.
