How to Look Put Together Even When You’re Really, REALLY Not Feelin’ It

We know them, we love them, and we want to be them, you know who we’re talking about, the girlies that always look put together. It doesn’t matter what time of day, the weather, or what they’re even wearing for that matter, they just always look ~polished~. If you want to be that kind of person, then keep reading to discover our best tips.

We’re starting at the base with your skin and nails because clean skin determines how your makeup will sit and clean well-manicured nails just make the girl. Now we don’t mean you need to be shelling out money every week to the nail salon, we just mean your nails should be clean, trimmed, filed, and shaped.

When it comes to your wardrobe, find your style and know your colors. If you know you’re a pixie trouser, graphic tee, blazer, and flat loafer kind of person when it comes to the office, invest in those pieces and always have them on hand for a minimal effort morning. Let’s talk colors. First, always wear the colors that make you feel happy and confident, but if those colors happen to work together to create a palette, keep that in mind as you’re shopping and getting ready.

Admittedly, sometimes we like hit snooze a few too many times and we don’t always have enough time for a full face of makeup, but even on our rushed days, we apply concealer to hide dark circles, redness, and/or any blemishes. From there we apply some mascara and we’re ready for the day.

Get a little fun and funky when it comes to your shoe game, but don’t feel like you have to sacrifice comfort. We promise that there are trendy shoes that are also comfortable. For instance, we hope this retro sneaker and crisp white sneaker trend is here to stay forever because a sneaker is a great way to tie your outfit together and look stylish while you do so. Oh, and comfort isn’t sacrificed, not even a little.

Always give your hair some love, even if you’re doing the bare minimum. Basically what we’re saying is never underestimate the power of some dry shampoo and a claw clip. (Thank you 90s/y2k revival!)

One of the best ways to ensure you always look put together is to take care of the pieces you have. What we mean is to properly wash items, snip any loose threads, buff out any scuffs in your shoes, and invest in a lint remover for your sweaters, blazers, coats, etc to keep everything looking brand new.
