The Astronocchio is a Make Believe Boy
Pinocchio is a beloved classic from Disney. It follows the story of a wooden toy who desires to be a real boy. We are all familiar with the story. But many of you probably didn’t know of the story where the sentient puppet turned lime green after he ingested some toxic chemical from a waste plant.
This could pass for a horrible knockoff, but it isn’t. Dave Bondi created this toy as he tried to nail the inauthentic look of many of these knock-offs. The toy is a combination of Pinocchio and Astro-Boy. It’s all fun and games until a knock-off manufacturer sees the toy and thinks to himself, “Hey, that would make for an actual toy we could sell to kids.”
