They did not allow gloves use for a very good reason
In the early days of the pandemic, scientists were still not completely sure how the novel virus spread. That is why most became obsessed with wearing gloves and disinfecting every single surface. But many of those early methods did more harm than good.
The fact is that most of the population did not fully comprehend what really protected you from catching the virus and what was completely useless. Signs like these perfectly explained how some measures could be counterproductive.
