They got invited to two parties but decided to stay home
The chances of someone being a party animal past their forties are pretty slim. Most parents attend their kids’ schoolmates’ birthday celebrations, which usually don’t involve loud music and end early. Still, even those can be too overwhelming for introverted people.
Clearly, this couple’s main priority isn’t to make friends. They know they’ll meet new people if they attend those two gatherings that weekend, but staying on the couch watching TV sounds more appealing to them.
