Platforms We Want, No, NEED Immediately

We have to admit that from season to season we get pretty excited to freshen up our wardrobe a little bit and shoes simply can’t go unnoticed. As we’re looking at our shoe collection we have the basics – a crisp white sneaker, a pointed toe flat, a chunky boot, the list goes on, but one thing pair we’re missing that we’re absolutely beyond obsessed with? A platform sandal! (Or two or three…) We saw a fair amount of platforms last summer, even into fall, but we have a sneaking suspicion we’re going to be seeing them all over the place this summer and we are so okay with that. So today we’re sharing with you a few pairs of platform sandals we should probably just go ahead and add to cart.

First things first, a platform shoe is any shoe, boot, or sandal with an obviously thick sole. And while this may sound uncomfortable, platforms are actually super comfortable to wear. (Just one of the many reasons we love them!)

Flatform Wedge Sandal

The number of times we’ve said “Okay, Wal-Mart…” over the last few years is pretty incredible. It’s no secret that Wal-Mart has seriously stepped their game up and we hope they never lose momentum, because not only are their clothes, handbags, jewelry, and obviously shoes trendy, but they’re heckin’ affordable too.

These wedge sandals are very much giving us Lizzie McGuire in the best way, and we wouldn’t hate to own these in every color.

Square Toe Loafer

If you love classic pieces, in this case, shoes, that are just a little extra, then you should seriously consider adding these shoes to your repertoire. These loafers will also serve as great transitional shoes; wear them into spring, then let them take you right from summer into fall. And you really can’t go wrong when it comes to stying these either; wear them with monochromatic outfits, jeans, even skirts.

Monroe Platform Sandals

This particular style of platform sandal is a must this summer. We love that these are a little Birkenstock-esqe, but minus a hefty price tag. These create some juxtaposition when paired with light, dainty pieces such as summer dresses or flowy skirts; the combo just makes us want to blast some Alanis Morisette. Don’t worry if dresses and skirts aren’t your thing, these shoes add a little edge to just about any outfit.
