The Witness

The witness is a documentary that will leave you shaken in an interesting way. The Witness covers, not just the 1964 murder of Kitty Genovese, but also the 38 people who lived in her building that allegedly never heard a peep. What makes this documentary even more touching is that it was her brother who set out to discover just how a building full of people never heard or tried to help his sister while she was being stabbed to death.

The Keepers

If you still haven’t watched this documentary, this is your sign to go ahead and press play. The Keepers is one season long, and trust us when we say, you won’t want to stop. The docu-series tackles the unsolved murder of Cathy Cesnik that occurred sometime between November of 1969 and January of 1970. The case went cold but was revived during the 1990s when a former student of Cesnik accused the high school chaplain at the time of sexual abuse and claims she was taken to Cesnik’s body by the chaplain. Even the snobbiest of documentary snobs will appreciate the presentation of The Keepers, directed by Ryan White.
