Spooky season is upon us and you’re going to need something to listen to while you drive to the pumpkin patch, apple orchard, and spook houses, so we thought all of our PSL girls would appreciate some spoOoOoky season podcasts to listen to. We don’t recommend listening to most of these before bed. Unless that’s just your thing, in which case, we’re here for it. Let’s get started!
The Last Podcast on the Left
If you’re a Murderino then you’re probably already a listener or you’re at least familiar with the title. These two comedians cover all the spooky things. (https://aaluminum.com) Seriously. Cults, killers, paranormal stuff, you name it.
The Moonlit Road
If you’re into urban legends and freaky folktales, which usually have a little truth behind them, we might add, then The Moonlit Road is just the podcast you need to binge stat. The show focuses on the American South and it pairs nicely with making s’mores around a crackly fireplace in the middle of nowhere. Just trust us on this one.
Dark House
This is for all of you that are just suckers for a good haunted house story, and don’t feel bad, we’re suckers too. Dark House takes you to some of the most notoriously spooky homes whether their claim to fame was a gruesome murder or simply an ominous abandoned mansion. You’ll learn who lived there, who died there, and by the end, you’ll be planning your next road trip around all the spooky, scary homes you want to visit.
The Other Stories
If you’re looking for a spooky podcast with a shorter running time for your commute, say 20 – 25 minutes tops, then check out The Other Stories. As promised, these are not the stories your mom told you as a kid, these are unsettling, spine-chilling stories that will leave you wanting more.
The Mysterious Old Radio Listening Society
If you just know you would have been in A.V. Club or you just have a deep appreciation for all things vintage, then you’ll love The Mysterious Old Radio Listening Society. Each episode is a blast from the past playing a horror or suspense radio show from the golden age of radio. The audio and sound effects alone are chilling enough, then add an old-school horror narrative? Sold.
Dr. Death
Dr. Death is what nightmares are made of only it happened in real life so it’s ten times scarier. Frankly, we can’t think of anything more terrifying than some Joe Blow lying about being a doctor and purposely botching spinal surgeries, resulting in permanent injuries and death.
