This broken elevator defies math knowledge
People frequently use the elevator for a variety of purposes. The fundamental argument is practicality. Not everyone wants to get their heart rate up by ascending a flight of stairs, though. Similarly, testing guests’ reading comprehension and math abilities in the elevator is the last thing they are in the mood for.
Those people who ignore signs will most likely be surprised by this elevator. Not only will it be confusing for those traveling to the second floor, but people might be curious as to what number will be pushed by those going to the sixth floor. This “mathematical elevator” perhaps belongs more in a school than in a hotel.
