We Rewatched Laguna Beach and These Were the Most Dramatic Moments

On a whim, we decided that we needed to watch Laguna Beach again, and to say it wasn’t a disappointment is a vast understatement. Now, if you were around for prime early 2000s MTV reality shows, then you can already hear the opening credit song (Alexa, play Come Clean by Hilary Duff), but if you aren’t quite old enough to remember, allow us to enlighten you. Laguna Beach was an “unscripted” show that followed the lives of a group of high school students attending Laguna Beach High School. And just to really paint the picture, season one premiered in 2004. To be completely honest, we started it for the fashion, and we got hooked on the drama. And that’s why we’re here today, so pull on those Ugg boots and let’s take a look at the most dramatic, or perhaps iconic moments in Laguna Beach.

THE Black and White Party

This was the moment we knew it was going to be difficult to relate to these teens because when we were in high school we were still having sleepovers with friends and making lame YouTube videos, while these kids were having themed cocktail parties on the beach. Nevertheless, everyone wore black and Kristin wore white, and that’s all you need to know.

The Great Catalina Depression

We will never understand how or why LC went on a camping trip with a small group of people, including Kristen, but she did and it was a sad scene indeed. The entire time LC was sitting by herself and/or moping around, but what did she really expect? We felt the cringe through the screen even 18 years later.

What Happens in Cabo, Stays in Cabo

Except when you have a camera crew following you around. The Stephen, LC, Kristen love triangle blew up in Cabo; Stephen had a few select words for Kristen, LC was just waiting and hoping for it to all come to fruition, Kristen was doing her own thing, it was ~drama~.

That Time Morgan Didn’t Invite Lo and LC to Her Birthday Party…

…then they all ran into each other at the nail salon the day after. Talk about awkward.

Speaking of Morgan, When She Didn’t Get Into BYU

Perhaps one of the more relatable moments in Laguna Beach.

THAT Broadway Audition

Before Morgan and Christina headed to the Big Apple, Christina’s mom surprised her with a Broadway audition. We got to witness this audition, and it was certainly something.

Uhm, When Alex Dropped $600 on Dior Wedges

We were suspicious that we were in two very different tax brackets, but those suspicions were confirmed when this iconic event took place. $600 Dior wedges to wear with a denim mini skirt? That made our Charlotte Russe wardrobe look weak.
